Welcome to CWA-65!
Embedded within the National Security Agency (NSA) at Fort Meade, Maryland, Cryptologic Warfare Activity SIX FIVE (CWA-65) Sailors provide specialized cryptologic expertise and conduct complex signals intelligence analysis to meet the critical security needs of fleet, joint, and national customers.
We want to make your arrival and in-processing as smooth as possible. We recognize the additional stress and burden you may be facing during this transition and so emphasize that consistent communication with your Sponsor and the CWA-65 team is essential. We are here to support your transition.
SPONSORS
A Sponsor will be assigned to you upon receipt of your PCS orders. If you have any concerns or believe you have not been assigned a Sponsor after you have received your PCS orders, please reach out to the sponsorship email distro at cwa65_sponsorcoordinators@us.navy.mil.
TRANSPORTATION
Coordinate with your sponsor for transportation the check in process! There is limited public transportation in the Fort Meade area and outside of Baltimore City and Washington D.C themselves. Utilizing the Duty Van for unofficial business is not authorized.

REPORTING
Arrive in uniform with your orders. Reporting personnel shall wear Service Dress Blues during the winter months and Service Dress Whites / Summer Whites during the summer months.
If you arrive during business hours on a duty day (Monday-Friday, 0800-1600), your Sponsor will escort or meet you at National Business Parkway (NBP) 306, Room 175.

If arriving outside of business hours, have your Sponsor contact the Command CDO. The CDO will log your arrival date and time and report it Admin personnel. On the next duty day, follow the instructions for reporting during business hours.

TEMPORARY LODGING
The Navy Lodge is the official government lodging when on PCS orders. For reservations call 1-800-628-9466 or visit website www.navy-lodge.com. NAVSUPACT Annapolis has the closest Navy Lodge to Fort Meade. To obtain lodging at a location other than the Navy Lodge, and be reimbursed for it on your travel claim, you must obtain a Certificate of Non-Availability (CNA) from the Navy Lodge. Candlewood Suites on Fort Meade is a contracted lodging facility and therefore any CNA they provide may not be valid for a travel claim.

BARRACKS (BEQ)
Living quarters will be provided for E4 and below without dependents, or as necessary. The BEQ is located on the NSA campus. Your sponsor will assist you in gaining access to the NSA campus and ensuring you are checked into the BEQ and assigned a room. Barracks rooms are designed so that you will have your own room and share a bathroom / shower / common area with one other Sailor. There is a large common area kitchen on the ground floor.
FIREARMS
All privately owned firearms of personnel who will be living in the barracks or in family quarters on Fort Meade must be registered with the Provost Marshal Registration Office. You may NOT store firearms in the barracks. Weapons must be stowed with the Provost Marshal and may be checked out as needed for recreational use.
Concealed carry on Fort Meade or any Federal installation is NOT authorized regardless of any state carry permit, including Maryland’s, that you may possess.
GALLEY
If you arrive after working hours, will be residing in the BEQ, and are not currently receiving Basic Allowance for Sustenance (BAS), present a copy of your orders at the House of Six Hats Dining Facility (Located near the BEQ) for food service. During check-in, the command will provide the galley with your information so that you can continue to eat there until you move out of the BEQ and/or receive BAS.

MEDICAL
Personnel reporting to CWA-65 must ensure that they are in TRICARE East and select a Primary Care Manager. There are many Military Treatment Facilities that you can choose to base your primary care out of in the Fort Meade area such as:

In the event of a true medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest hospital’s Emergency Department! If you receive care at a civilian Emergency Department ensure that you:
- Notify TRICARE within 24 hours
- Schedule a follow up with your Primary Care Provider to ensure the care gets documented in your record and to receive any follow up treatment that may be required.
If you do not notify TRICARE that you were seen at a civilian hospital then you may be responsible for the medical costs associated with the visit.
