Lt. Cuong T. Le

NIOD Korea Commanding Officer

Lt. Cuong T. Le, a native of St. Petersburg, Florida, attended the University of Central Florida, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology in 2010. He then attended Florida Atlantic University and graduated with a Master of Arts in experimental psychology in 2013 and earned his commission through Officer Candidate School in September of 2013.

In February 2013, he arrived at Naval Information Operations Command (NIOC) Hawaii as a the deputy senior operations officer on the Hawaii Security Operations Center (HSOC) watch floor responsible for direction, management, and oversight of 24/7 signals intelligence (SIGINT) operations and acting as the focal point for intelligence community requirements pertaining to the U.S. Pacific Command (PACOM) area of responsibility. He concluded his time at NIOC Hawaii as the HSOC senior operations officer.

Lt. Le then deployed aboard Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Bainbridge (DDG 96) as the signals warfare officer (SIGWO) in Baltic Operations 2018 and Mare Aperto 2019. During this time he was responsible for signals intelligence collection and electronic warfare planning; supporting U.S. 6th and 5th Fleet intelligence needs.


Lt. Le currently serves as the assistant officer in charge for U.S. Navy Information Operations Detachment (NIOD) Korea and the operations officer for Special U.S. Liaison Advisor Korea’s branch mission centers.

Lt. Le’s awards include the Joint Service Commendation medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medal, and various other campaign awards.
