Command Philosophy

We are the Navy's COMSEC professionals. Our mission is to manage the strategic communications security capabilities that are the foundation of Navy communications and are critical to joint and allied commanders operating around the globe. We must strive daily to maintain the standard of excellence our Sailors, Soldiers, Airmen, Marines and Guardsmen deserve.

Our NCMS keys to success are:

N - NAVY
The core values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment are at the center of all we do. We are all part of the Naval Communications Security Material System (NCMS) team; we openly communicate with one another, exercise integrity and professionalism, and treat others with dignity and respect.

C - COMPETENCE
We are the fleet's COMSEC professionals; the Department of the Navy (DoN) trusts us for the right answers on COMSEC policy, accounting, storing and equipment disposition. Educating the fleet in COMSEC policies and procedures is our core competency. We strive to better ourselves through personal and professional education so that we can better support the NCMS team and DoN.

M - MISSION ACCOMPLISHMENT
We enable global maritime operations through assured command and control by enforcing procedural compliance and ensuring Sailors, Marines, and Coast Guardsman maintain COMSEC operational readiness at all times.

S - SAFETY
Our team members are our greatest resource. Therefore, we take no unnecessary risks when conducting evolutions. We never compromise on safety; nothing we do justifies putting ourselves or our fellow Sailors, Marines, or Civilians in danger. Safety is everyone's responsibility whether or off duty.
