Important Note: Sailors, it is important that your Family Information Form has current contact information in case of emergencies. You can also update your additional persons list on the form at any time to include more loved ones in receiving information and newsletters from your ombudsman team and to permit us to be able to speak with them.
ABOUT OMBUDSMAN PROGRAM
Ombudsmen are volunteers appointed by the commanding officer to serve the command and its families, and every command has at least one. The ombudsman serves as a point of contact for information and referral for service members and their loved ones, including spouses, children, parents, siblings, relatives and friends. They can assist Navy families by directing them to resources that help to cope with the difficulties of a military lifestyle. They also pass along information and announcements from the command to their command's families and can voice concerns or comments from Navy family members to the command leadership. Ombudsmen also serve as a point of contact for their command's family members during emergencies.
