Congratulations on your orders to Naval Information Warfare Training Group (NIWTG) San Diego!

REPORTING ABOARD
IWTG SD is a tenant of Naval Base Coronado located on Coronado Island, near San Diego. The IWTG SD quarterdeck phone number is 619-545-9920. Contact our SSO as soon as possible at 619-545-7207.

SPONSOR PROGRAM
Military personnel will be accompanied by their sponsor during check-in. Service dress uniform is required upon first day of check-in. Contact the Command Sponsorship Coordinator.

UNIFORMS

  • The prescribed uniform of the day for IWTG SD is NSU or Type-3 for E-6 and below

  • ​Service khaki or NWU for E-7 and above

SECURITY

  • All IWTG San Diego personnel require a current T5 investigation and a polygraph within the last five years. Polygraphs can be completed once onboard unless

LIMITED DUTY

  • Contact your current SSO to verify your investigation status and notify your sponsor of any impending issues as soon as possible

  • Contact the IWTG-SD Special Security Office (CAC enabled)

FAMILY INFORMATION

  • Parents are urged to register their children for school as soon as possible after they move into the school's attendance area. For more information, please visit the School Liaison Officers website.

  • San Diego has many child development centers. Please click here to learn more. 

  • ​​The Fleet and Family Support Center (FFSC) is committed to supporting Navy and Marine Corps personnel and their families. They offer a wide range of services and programs geared toward developing skills to help individuals and families be more self-reliant and adjust to the challenges of military life.

    • Call FFSC at 619-545-6017 or visit Bldg. 318 Saufley Road on Naval Base Coronado. Hours of operation are Mon. - Fri. 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

HOUSING

  • Navy Bachelor Quarters

    • All unaccompanied E-5 and junior personnel will be assigned a room in the BQ, unless the BQ is 90% full. Click here for more information.

  • BAH/BAS requirements, which also apply to personnel transferring to IWTG San Diego from the local area

    • Personnel E-5 and junior without dependents (and frocked E-6) must submit a Special Request Chit through the commanding officer, a BAS/BAH Request Form through the NBC commanding officer and a completed BAH Page 13, to draw or continue BAH entitlements to live off-base.

    • Personnel E-5 and junior With Dependents (and Frocked E-6) are required to complete a BAH Page 13.

    • Personnel E-6 and senior are required to complete a BAH Page 13.
