Reporting Aboard
Welcome to CWMA-61!
Please review the below information as it will aid you in your PCS process and may answer many of the questions that you have!
SPONSORS
A Sponsor will be assigned to you upon receipt of your PCS orders. If you have any concerns or believe you have not been assigned a sponsor after you have received your PCS orders, please reach out to the sponsorship email distro at cwma61sponsorcoordinator@us.navy.mil.
TRANSPORTATION
Sponsors will provide transportation to new arrivals who require it during the check in process!
There is limited public transportation in the Fort Meade area outside of Baltimore City and Washington D.C themselves, and utilizing the Duty Van for unofficial business is not authorized.
However there are some public transit options. For information and up-to-date public transportation schedules, visit https://www.mta.maryland.gov/.
UNIFORMS
The Uniform of the Day will be worn for conducting all official business. The UOD is as follows:

FIREARMS
All privately owned firearms of personnel who will be living in the barracks or in family quarters on Fort Meade must be registered with the Provost Marshal Registration Office. Visit https://home.army.mil/meade/about/Garrison/DES/mp-operations/weapons-registration for instructions on how to register your firearms.
If you will reside in the barracks you may NOT store firearms there. Store your weapons with the Provost Marshal and check them out when you want to go to the range, hunting, etc.
Concealed carry on Fort Meade or any Federal installation is NOT authorized regardless of any state carry permit, including Maryland’s, that you may possess.
BARRACKS (BEQ)
If you are currently E3 or below and have no dependents you will initially reside at the BEQ until you are advanced to E4 or have dependents. The BEQ are located on the NSA campus side of Fort Meade and your sponsor will ensure that you receive the appropriate campus access. Once you are checked into the BEQ you will be assigned a room. You will have your own room and share a bathroom / shower / common area with one other Sailor. There is a large common area kitchen on the ground floor.
LODGING
The Navy Lodge is the official government lodging when on PCS orders. For reservations call 1-800-628-9466 or visit website www.navy-lodge.com. NSA Annapolis has the closest Navy Lodge to Fort Meade. In order to obtain lodging at a location other than the Navy Lodge and be reimbursed for it on your travel claim you MUST obtain a Certificate of Non-Availability (CNA) from the Navy Lodge. Candlewood Suites on Fort Meade is a contracted lodging facility and therefore any CNA they provide you will NOT be valid for a travel claim.
GALLEY
If you arrive after working hours and will be residing in the BEQ and are not currently receiving Basic Allowance for Sustenance (BAS), present a copy of your orders at the House of Four Hats dining facility (located near the BEQ) for food service. During check-in, Q Division will provide the galley with your information so that you can continue to eat there until you move out of the BEQ and receive BAS.
Their food service hours are as follows:
