Family Support

FROM THE OMBUDSMAN

Team PACIFIC and NCTAMS PAC Families, aloha!  I am your new Command Ombudsman, Katie O’Rourke.

I am here to support the families of this Command, and for me to do that effectively, I kindly request your participation to ensure that critical information makes its way to your spouses and family as quickly as possible.  As your Ombudsman, I am here to assist Command, service, and family members with anything and everything Command and Navy related. I am a Navy wife and daughter. I know the struggles that Navy families experience when it comes to deployments, TDY’s, IAs, domestic challenges, and of course, many PCS moves, all of which require accurate and timely resource and referral information. This information can come from many different sources such as the JBPHH Ombudsman and Key Spouse Program, Fleet and Family Support Center, Military One Source, etc. With so much information from various places, it can be difficult to ensure that accurate information successfully reaches everyone. This is where I come in. I’m here as a communication link to ensure that you get accurate information in a timely manner and in a simple way. I want to make information accessible to you when you need it.

As I said above, I’m here to support you and your families. If you are in need of an answer regarding just about anything Navy- or Command-related, or resources that are available to you as military families, please do not hesitate to reach out!  If I do not have an immediate answer for you, I have several people and organizations that I can reach out to get you the answer you need. I am here to serve you.

In my role as Ombudsman, I am also held to a strict confidentiality code. This means I cannot and will not share any information that is given to me during our conversations unless they are on the list of mandatory reportables. For your reference, I am required to report things like sexual assault, domestic violence, child abuse/neglect, homicidal or suicidal threats, and law breaking directly to the Command. Please do not take this as a deterrent as this is strictly to ensure that our Command families are safe and taken care of. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me for any need you have. If you are dealing with an issue or concern that requires attention and not sure where to go, I am able to help and will not require any information from you.

Finally, if you would like to be added to my email distribution list, I will be happy to do so! This will be my primary means of communication. My contact info is below. Please reach out to me at your earliest convenience. Thank you for trusting me to serve you.  I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Your NCTAMS PAC Ombudsman

Very Respectfully,

Katie O’Rourke
