Senior Chief Petty Officer Robert A. Lewis
Senior Chief Petty Officer Robert A. Lewis is a native of Sacramento, California. He enlisted in the United States Navy in December 2000, and attended Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois. Upon completion of boot camp, he attended Aviation Electronics Technician Intermediate level “A” and “C” schools in Pensacola, Florida, and San Diego.
In March 2001, Senior Chief Lewis reported to Commander, Strike Fighter Wing Pacific (CSFWP) Detachment aircraft intermediate maintenance department (AIMD) in Lemoore, California, where he served as a consolidated automated support system (CASS) technician. He completed one deployment aboard USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) and two deployments aboard USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76).
In August 2008, he reported to Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit (CNATTU) North Island as a CASS instructor. While there, he was selected as an Individual Augmentee and deployed in 2010 to Taji and Diwaniya, Iraq, to operate unmanned aerial vehicles and act as the liaison officer to Special Operations Task Force Central for Scan Eagle operations in the region. Upon his return, he earned his Master Training Specialist (MTS) qualification, was advanced to the rank of chief petty officer on Sept.16, 2011, and served as the MTS coordinator for the duration of his tour.
In November 2012, he reported aboard USS George Washington (CVN 73) where he served as the avionics leading chief petty officer (LCPO) for various work centers, such as AIMD ordnance and production control. He advanced to senior chief petty officer in 2015. In the same year, he took part in the tri-carrier hull-swap and spent the rest of his tour aboard USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) as the production control LCPO. In 2016, he transferred to Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ) 141 as the quality assurance supervisor. In 2018, he was selected for the command senior chief program.
In April 2019, Senior Chief Lewis reported to his present assignment as the command senior enlisted leader of Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station (NCTS) Sicily, Italy. He earned his Enlisted Information Warfare Specialist qualification, and continues to serve proudly.
He is a graduate of the Coast Guard Senior Enlisted Leadership Course class 66 and CMC/COB class 19080.
His personal decorations include the Joint Services Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
